Ohemaa Woyeje paid a courtesy visit to Rev. Father Andrew Campbell, an Irish-Ghanaian Catholic missionary who has dedicated decades to supporting cured leprosy patients, street-connected children and other vulnerable people at the Weija Leprosarium.
Rev. Father Campbell, founder of the Lepers Aid Committee and a former parish priest of Christ the King Catholic Church, received a copy of Ohemaa Woyeje’s book, Life Beyond Opinions, and commended her work as an author and entrepreneur.
He encouraged young women to pursue education, develop their skills and work towards becoming financially independent, cautioning them against relying on men or using their bodies in exchange for material support.
“Your body is not a thank-you card,” he advised, urging young women to build lives that give them dignity, independence and the ability to provide a better future for themselves and their children.
Rev. Father Campbell also offered a special prayer for Ohemaa Woyeje before her departure. In a lighter moment, he jokingly promised to enjoy Ga kenkey with Ohemaa Woyeje Shito, bringing the visit to a warm and cheerful close.
